Ryabushko Mykola M.

Doctor of Medical Sciences, assistant professor of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology of Clinical Immunology and Allergology. 

 

 He was born in 1963 in the village. Panchenko Lebedinskogo district, Sumy region. In 1985 he graduated from the Natural Sciences Sumy State Pedagogical Institute .. AS Makarenko. From 1985 to 1990 he worked as a teacher and director of the school. From 1990 to 1991 was elected Secretary-1-st Lebedinskogo LCD LKSMU (MDS), Sumy region. From 1991 to 1997 he studied at the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) in Faculty of Medicine. In 1998 he graduated from the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) in the field of therapy. Since 1998 he is working at the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) as Assistant Professor, and since 2003 as Associate Professor of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at UMSA. In 2002 he defended his thesis on: "Medical-prophylactic effectiveness of natural sorbent and antioxidants in long-term flow of fluoride in the body and received the title of Candidate of Medical Sciences. Ryabushko Mykola M. is the author of 18 scientific and methodological articles and 3 patents of Ukraine. The main orientation of scientific programs: Toxicology. Prevention. Antioxidants.

 

General Information

The Medical course at the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) takes six years and leads to MD (Doctor of Medicine) or MBBS. In the under graduate program, during six years of study the students learn different subjects from fundamental subjects disciplines to special medical subjects.The practice of medicine remains one of the most satisfying of all professions and we believe that the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) is an ideal place to earn your medical education.

We believe students are enrolling in Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) for the right reasons-they want to provide care for people and they feel that as physicians they can make a difference in their communities. For that reason, We have great faith that health care delivery in our nation has a bright future.The Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) is known nationally for its many innovative teaching, clinical training and research programs. Our award-winning faculty members constantly strive for innovation and excellence in the classroom, the laboratory and the clinic. Because the class size is relatively small, our faculty members get to know each student. It is one thing to say the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) has terrific people and programs and another to prove it.

Admission to the medical faculty takes place after conclusion of a contract. Foreigners learn in group of seven eight students along with local students. The second year students attend their clinical studies where they can gain experience in nursing the patients. Clinical subjects are taught beginning from the third year of study. Students can study any topic of interest and to raise their of knowledge in the departments. All six years of the program are important and all must be passed successfully before students are permitted to graduate.                                                            

The medium of instruction in the Medical faculty is English and Russian language. The Ministry of education and Ministry of Public health, Ukraine approved the curriculum of the medical faculty. Most of the countries of the world accepts the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) diploma.

The state final examinations on all the disciplines according to the syllabus are held within one system through 2 stages:

  • testing practical proficiency of final-year students (when exams on clinical disciplines are taken, testing takes place at the patient's bed)
  • testing scientific/theoretical proficiency.

The successful students who will complete study of five years, then on graduation work for another year under probation in order to gain general registration. There is a wide range of specialisation available in the public and private sectors, involving research, academic medicine, public health, clinical medicine and other areas. Specialties include Cardiology, Oncology, Pediatrics, Psychological Medicine, Surgery, Pathology, Public Health, General Practice and many others. Most doctors complete postgraduate training in their chosen specialty.

History and Establishment

of the Faculty of Medicine 

It was given the needs of doctors in Poltava in 1971 when the Poltava Medical Stomatological/Dental Institute was opened treatment (now Medical) Department. The first dean of the medical faculty was professor VF Postnikov  (1971 - 1973), in a little while Dean was appointed Associate Professor VI Sanika (1973 - 1977). These deans had great organizational work on the formation of personnel, organization of educational process. During its existence the Faculty has prepared nearly 8 thousand medical practitioners, surgeons, obstetricians - gynecologists, neuropathologists, eye doctors, urologists, infectious disease, many doctors of other specialties, not only for the Poltava region, and all of Ukraine, the Middle abroad. 30 years ago to create institute faculty were invited specialists of high qualifications from other educational and medical institutions. More than a quarter century on the faculty are professors: PY Chumak, AP Gasyuk, GT Dream Interpretation, JP Kostylenko EA Vorobyov, MA Dudchenko. During its existence the faculty deans vybyralys Professors: VP Mishchenko (1977 - 979), YO Maksymuk (1977 - 1983), JP Kostylenko (1986 - 1991), Associate Professor: SA Lagutin (1983 - 1986), VM Bobyrov (1991 - 1992), BF Chichi (1992 - 1993), IP Katerenchuk (1993 - 2001), BP Lysenko (2001 - 2002); GM Traverse (2002 - 2006), TA Krjuchko (2007).

At the time being, 1221 student learns at the Faculty of Medicine of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA), of which 769 students on the  budget form.The students are trained in General Medicine and in Pediatrics specialities at the Faculty of Medicine of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA). 

Teaching Staff of the Faculty of Medicine of Ukrainian Faculty of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA): 281 teachers, including 53 doctors of medicine and professors and 177 candidates of medical science, professors, among them - 7 Honored Scientist of Ukraine, 6 Honored doctors of Ukraine, 2 State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology 27 academicians specialized academies. Training is conducted in 23 departments. All clinical department headed by Professor, Doctor of Science.

The main focus of faculty is to prepare highly skilled professionals, who perfectly know their business, are highly basic and vocational training aimed at achieving high end results of public health, the best educated in the spirit of progress and achievements of world science and culture. Medicine faculty of the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) Graduates receive diploma of government of Ukraine, which reflects a higher education in the field of General Medicine and Pediatrics.

The main strategic task of Medical Faculty of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) is to train young generation,to make them capable of operating in a competitive environment of modern society. Therefore, since 2005 to the educational process and the course started by European standards, the quality of training by the Bologna Convention.

Formed and fruitful scientific work - teaching school: Pathology (Head - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Anatoly P. Gasyuk) Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology (Head - Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, MD, professor Bobyrov Viktor), nervous diseases (Head - Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, MD, professor Gritsay Natalya) Therapy (Head - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Katerenchuk Ivan), childhood diseases (Head - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Traverse Galina Mikhailovna) that provides research for Masters and postgraduate courses.

 

Material and technical base of faculty

Faculty of Medicine established adequate logistical framework that fully supports the training in the specialty of General Medicine and Pediatrics, and in general conformity with the training at the appropriate level. The Department has to balance buildings, including three academic buildings, two dormitories, a dining room, household enclosures, vivarium, health and sports camp, total area is 29,677 m2. Per student falls 12.8 m2, for the educational process that meets the standards for the educational activity. Clinical Faculty Department located in all provincial and municipal hospitals of Poltava, amount of beds which is 6095 beds used in the educational process and to provide practical training for students at the appropriate level. Department of Clinical and therapeutic base equipped with modern diagnostic and medical equipment that enables the modern to the diagnosis and treatment using modern advances in science.

 

Research

To conduct research and improve medical diagnostic aid to the population field at the academy created: Regional Diagnostic Center, a center for study and testing of surgical implants and suture material, educational and consultative diabetes center, medical diagnostic science and Rehabilitation Center, training and advisory Pulmonological Center, Gastroenterological Research and Consultation Center, Poltava regional center of cell and tissue therapy, neurophysiological laboratory, laboratory manipulation, Center of Genetics and Reproduction Family Training Center on primary neonatal intensive care unit. 

The faculty of Medicine of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) developed a computer-based training of basic computer classes, each of which mounted profile of the department. Various training activities are carried on separate computers and chairs. Enacted modern computer classes and Internet-class, with the possibility of free high-speed access to the Internet.

The faculty of Medicine of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) uses modern multimedia technology training that can maximize the ways of perception of information, bring the condition developed in lecture halls with the terms of the future of daily activity of a physician. In the medical department stipulates the methodology of the educational process. Teachers introduce the learning process of modern educational technologies, the latest educational achievement, new advanced technologies and treatment methods.

One of the main challenges for the future is the specialist level of his professional training in a competitive labor market. It encourages teachers to an intensive search methods, improving the monitoring of student learning and preparing teaching documents, including the development of guidelines, manuals, teaching development, complex programs for self workshops. Team teachers of the faculty holds fruitful work to create training manuals in accordance with the curriculum and the current requirements issued by the State language. Widespread use in the study of special and general subjects to find tutorials, created by teachers of Faculty of Medicine of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA). Large and productive work done by the best teachers - Methodists to establish new programs in basic disciplines and adapting existing programs to the curriculum. Lectures and workshops conducted with the use of multimedia programs, training videos, slides, kodohram, visual aids and content involving patients. The organization of educational work of a significant role to play Academy Library, which ensures students with training, background and technical literature. Library of 361,922 copies, including the 12767 copies of textbooks.

 

The structure of the educational process

Training in the field of Medicine "carried out in accordance with the schedule of the educational process, which provides length of the training sessions, dates of production practices, examinations and state certification, vacation. Faculty of Medicine is in close cooperation with the administration and management bodies of the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) created the objective conditions for an adequate quality level educational work by optimizing the method and content of training, increasing complexity and objectivity in the assessment of knowledge, improve material welfare of the educational process, it individualization, activating education in the learning process. The main bases for clinical practice are hospitals of Poltava and in Poltava region, as well as regional centers of Ukraine. In general, clinical meets the logistical and methodological support for the manufacturing practices of all courses at the appropriate level.

 

Leisure students of medical faculty

Students of the Faculty of Medicine of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) actively participate in the work of cultural and educational activities (Head - Nikina Natalia) in which she created song ensemble "Malvy, brass band and other student groups. In each course (and even more so - the faculty) is traditionally established team of cheerful and smart. KVN of Faculty of Medicine of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological/Dental Academy (UMSA) "FILINZ - winner of the student league of KVN Ukraine, winner of the festival fun and smart clubs" Pearl umorya - 2005. For sports lovers in the department of physical education are sports section.

For success in training students can get thanks, premium, high scholarship, a Fellow of the President of Ukraine and Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and students budget learning with high performance results have the right to the end of the first study to choose the distribution place to work. Students of Medical Faculty and create active in community organizations Academy: student councils, student parliament, trade union committees.

For the students the necessary social and living conditions for training, accommodation, medical care, nutrition and physical improvement of the students. Medical School Students live in dormitories 2 total area of 11,684 m2 (living area of 5703 m2). At the hostel number 4 completed block reception area of 1604 m2, which placed the department of physical education and health. The group are 4 gyms. Students and faculty staff an opportunity in their free time to engage in extra spacious gyms, improve their physical condition on modern bikes. All dormitories Academy provided 100 percent inventory of soft and hard, put in place a laundry. Students serve restaurant and 3 bars to 318 seats. In summer the academy is health and sports camp for 100 places for students, staff and teachers, located in the beautiful suburban area. 

The faculty trained 11 students, orphans, who are on full state provided, 28 students - victims of the Chernobyl accident and 19 students with disabilities. These students are entitled to the extraordinary settlement in a dormitory and receive an additional stipend. One time during the school year, students conducted a medical examination to detect clinical patients treated in clinical records, and have the opportunity to receive vouchers for the rest of the student camp.
